The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Parenting
by Joshua Piven, David Borgenicht, and Sarah Jordan
Format: Book
This is one of the most hilarious books I have ever read. Although some of the ideas are included solely for comic relief, other ideas are actually quite useful. I especially enjoyed the "Glossary of Teenage Slang" section. This is a "must-read" for parents of teenagers.

Whiteout
by Vicki Delany
Format: Book
Good read for a hot Texas summer since it takes place in Ontario in the winter. Heroine is interesting older woman. Exciting adventure mystery with just a touch of the supernatural.

The Paris Wife
by Paula McLain
Format: Book
The story of Hemingway and his first wife Hadley in Paris in the 20's. Told mostly from her point of view, it is interesting to contrast this book with "A Moveable Feast" by Ernest Hemingway. For another treatment of this time period and group of people, see "Midnight in Paris," Woody Allen's new movie.

Format: Audiobook
Funny audiobook. Narrator does a good job with the character. Much better than the movie.
