Good treatment of life in West Texas in the early part of the 1900's, right after World War I. Good character development of the three main characters (father, daughter and father of son killed in World War I).

A gripping account of a gentleman con man who impersonated an airline pilot, doctor, university professor and more. I couldn't put it down and stayed up late to finish it. The movie was based on this true story.

Murder can botch up your birtday

A female detective - who isn't perfect - but still gets the mystery solved - all the while dealing with her own personal life. Desiree Shapiro mysteries are a quick, fun read. This one is no exception.
